The Rebel Christmas Song

by Gary Edmisten

To the tune of "The Christmas Song”
(aka “Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire" - Music & Lyric by Mel Torme & Robert Wells)

Rebels anxious for all to open fire
Jack Black Whiskey up your nose
Yankee soldiers being chased thru a briar
Reb bullets whizzing thru their clothes
Confederate artillery makes them all lay low
And it makes the eve'ning bright
Yankee camps, with their tents all aglow
They won't be sleeping much tonight

They know Gen'ral Lee's on his way
He's moving regiments of men who wear the gray
And every goldang Yankee's gonna cry
When their capture by the Cavalry is nigh
And thru the din you hear a mule who brays
At the scene of carnage, what a view
And Jolly Saint Nick who a bullet did graze
Says "Bah Humbug" to you
