Welcome to Burbankia, a web site about the lore, local legends and history of Burbank, California - our hometown. A game we like to play when meeting or talking to somebody is to ask, "What's your hometown?" Most people will stop and explain that they live in such and such a place, or are "from" some place. But the inclusion of the word "home" in hometown brings with it emotional connotations. Mike still lives in Burbank; Wes lives in Northern Virginia. But both answer the hometown question the same way.
This page is an outgrowth of the "Wes Clark's Avocado Memories" website, which is a memoir of growing up in Burbank in the 1960's/1970's. E-mails from people who also grew up in Burbank led to posting relevant links on its links page. The sites linked on this page that lead to harvest gold and avocado green-colored pages are from the Avocado Memories site.
